52/52: The Last Pass, by Gary M. Pomerantz

Nominally a book about ‘50s Celtics leader Bob Cousy—and revelatory on that front, showing him as basketball’s first transformational star—but really focused on aging and race in America. Deeply thoughtful and very sad, but Cousy is a fascinating figure and example of how to strive to live a moral life.
