52/52: King Suckerman, by George Pelecanos

Another of Pelecanos’ typically engaging and lived-in DC crime novels, this one set during the week of the 1976 Bicentennial. I’ve read enough Pelecanos now to start to see the repetition in themes, but his worlds are so good. This takes many basic noir tropes and pushes them into a post-Vietnam context.
