My first Hickman and the huge reputation is clearly earned. Easily the most interesting X stories since Morrison’s run ended in 2004, and certainly the best superhero comics I’ve read in years. Hickman resuscitates an exhausted, moribund concept, sets it up for years of future stories. Compelling story and thrilling meta work.
