The Man in the High Castle, by Philip K Dick

A terrific work of alternate history, taking place in a 1962 where the Axis won World War 2 and partitioned and transformed the world. Almost not science—more speculative—fiction, which seems a departure for Dick. The scenes of characters briefly entering our world to the end of the story are bracing.

One of my very favorite Dick books. A really good, quick read for anyone out there who hasn’t read it yet. It’s a bit less daunting than some of his other’s, I’d say.
