A classic Vertigo graphic novel that would never get released today. Just a story, without a major twist, a high concept, or cross-media potential. Morrison’s allegory is a bit muddled, but Muth’s painting carries the day. There’s more subtlety and variety in one panel of Muth’s work than in entire modern comics.
