Superhero comics are, in almost all cases, children’s stories and they usually read like it. Every now and then, a creator writes these children’s stories like a fully grown adult. Moore, Morrison, Miller—Hickman. While the dialogue has a few false notes, Hickman writes these standalone stories with a fully mature sophistication.
