52/52: Shadowbahn, by Steve Erickson

Categorized in: ,

An experimental novel packed thick and deep with big ideas about music, race, history, and America. Also, an extremely Boomer-y take on the existential importance of Elvis as a portal between races. I’ve loved Erickson’s work in the past, but couldn’t connect to his obsessions here, though the formal flourishes were fun.
