52/52: The Lonesome Go, by Tim Lane

Categorized in: ,

Lane’s exploration of American icons—hoboes, femmes fatale, motorcycles, cars—and his affection for the Beat Generation didn’t work for me as well here as in previous books. But I was reminded of the infinite flexibility of comics by Lane’s mixture of art, blocks of text, one-page gags, sideways composition. Exciting stuff.
