52/52: Nothing But Blackened Teeth, by Cassandra Khaw

Categorized in: ,

I’m baffled at the effusive praise for this novella from many writers I love. This knock-off of The Haunting of Hill House, is burdened with tremendously overwritten sentences, an uncontrollable deluge of similes, and characters that adopt a discordantly metatextual view of the horror facing them. Surprisingly bad, given its tremendous buzz.
