As Seiichi becomes increasingly disturbed by the goings on in his house, family, and mind, this comic becomes ever-more effective. Manga’s decompressed storytelling perfectly matches the glitches in Seiichi’s mind—his newfound stutter, the moment where he briefly forgets how to walk. That couldn’t be done as effectively in denser Western comics.
