52/52: John Prine’s John Prine, by Erin Osmon

While nominally a monograph about John Prine’s classic first album, this is really a short biography of Prine, the 50s/60s Chicago folk scene, and 20th century working-class Chicago. A worthy entry into a great series that those, like me, who like Prine’s work, but know little about the man, will find worthwhile.
