52/52: Mr. Jones, by Edith Wharton

Categorized in: ,

I’m usually more of a fan of Wharton—especially her short stories—than I’d expect to be, but not this time. Perhaps this ghost story landed more effectively 100 years ago, but reading it in 2021, the ending stinger was obvious from the outset, leaving the conclusion damp. Atmosphere was great, though.

Book: 46 out of 52
